Texas Education Code 44.031 (a), Texas Government Code Chapter 2269, and Board Policy CV (Legal) provide for eight (8) methods of delivery of construction services. As one of the available methods, a school district may enter into a contract to purchase construction related goods or services through a purchasing cooperative.

The Facilities & Construction Department is requesting approval from the Board to utilize the Region 19 Allied States Cooperative RFP #21-7411, Job Order Contracting & Facilities Construction Services, to contract Noble General Contractors, LLC, for the Irvin High School Fume Hoods, Project No. 17.628C, in the amount of $648,885.60.  The project will consist of the installation of new fume hoods to the science labs to include the relocation/re-arrangement of the water treatment tanks.  The duration of construction is anticipated at two hundred (200) calendar days.  All efforts will be made to minimize disruptions during the project duration.

It is recommended by Ms. Irene Ramirez, Executive Director of Facilities & Construction, and Mr. Manny Verduzco, Interim Chief Operations Officer/Assistant Superintendent Information Security and Technology, that the Board approve the award of Irvin High School Fume Hoods, Project No. 17.628C, utilizing Region 19 Allied States Cooperative (ASC) RFP #21-7411, Job Order Contracting & Facilities Construction Services, to Noble General Contractors, LLC, in the amount of $648,885.60, as presented.
