The Facilities & Construction Department received on September 12, 2023, Change Order No. 01 from Dantex General Contractors, Inc., for CSP No. 23-037, Project No. 22.513C ESSER HVAC Replacement in High Occupancy Areas of Middle Schools and High Schools (Group 3). The Change Order is related to providing temporary services, the equipment warranty extension, manpower, and storage due to the re-phasing of selected areas as requested by District Administration, the re-roofing of the cafeteria and kitchen at Tinajero PK-8, and an additional one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days.

The Change Order, if approved, will increase the contract sum by $876,088.07, bringing the contract amount of $8,075,043.00 to $8,951,131.07  and extend the substantial completion of January 2, 2024, to June 30, 2024.  The Architect of Record, ASA Architects, has provided the District with an estimate of additional services fees in the amount of $4,750.00 for the extension of construction administration services from the project budget.  Administration will review documentation and proceed with approval, as per District policy and the contract terms.

Board Policy CV (Local) requires Administration to present any changes for an adjustment of cost greater than or equal to $50,000.00 or changes in the aggregate above fifteen percent (15%) of the original contract value, in addition to any construction time extensions exceeding thirty (30) calendar days in the aggregate, to the Board for approval. The Facilities & Construction Department recommends the Board approve the Change Order in accordance with the following motion (see attached documents).

It is recommended that the Board approve Change Order No. 01, for ESSER HVAC Replacement in High Occupancy Areas of Middle Schools and High Schools (Group 3), CSP No. 23-037, Project No. 22.513C, to Dantex General Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $876,088.07, bringing the new contract amount to $8,951,131.07, and a time extension of one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days, subject to review and approval of the Change Order documents by the District's Legal Counsel.
