| | | | | | | | | SUMMARY: | Mr. David Panko, AZS, Foreign Trade Zone Manager for the City of El Paso, submitted a request to EPISD for a letter of support for an expansion to Foreign Trade Zone No. 68. The Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) program was created in 1934 as an economic development tool, and is used by many companies in El Paso for business retention and expansion. The property on this application is not currently in the virtual boundaries of FTZ No. 68 and this action will allow the property into the virtual boundaries of FTZ No. 68. The expansion request is the process used by FTZ No. 68, via the Foreign Trade Zones Board, U.S. Department of Commerce, to add properties into Foreign Trade Zone boundaries. |
|
| | | | | | | | | ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION/MOTION: | It is recommended that the Board of Trustees authorize the Superintendent to execute a letter of support for the expansion of the Foreign Trade Zone No. 68. |
